Does anyone out there have any experience with/knowlege of boat ramps on the Pamlico River, North Carolina, east of the Washington, N.C. bridges? I am looking to launch my 260 on the river and cruise east toward Bath and, depending on conditions, sail across the sound to Ocracoke or Hatteras. Desire a dock adjacent to the ramp with parking for the truck and trailer that won't be in the way of others wishing to use the ramp while I'm on the river. Steve Kamp

Steve, I'd use McCotters Marina, 252-975-2174, on Broad Creek just north of of Blounts Bay. It's a decent place that you can leave the car and trailer, hook up to shore power, etc. From there it's a 2 or 3 hour sail to Bath or the Washington Waterfront (which you might enjoy), 6 or 7 hours to Belhaven, or 10 hrs to Ocracoke. When are you planning to head up this way?
