Palmer p60 wont start

Hey guys I just picked uo an old 71 columbia 28 with a palmer p60 inboard . Now ive replaced the plugs , cap filters battery and no gon..it turns it just wont start . i know the 3 rules of motoring gas , spark and air. I just cant figure this one ..any thoughts

How old is the gas? Have you physically verified spark at the plugs? Clean air filter? Have you checked ignition timing? Have you checked compression? Does the starter turn it over fast enough?

Gas is fresh .not sure how to do the rest of the suggestions . dont know how fast a starter should turn

old carbs gum up, and although you state that you understand the starting requirements which have you ensured exist?

Gummed up carburetor and or stuck valves are very possible in these old engines.. Problems with timing and distributor points and condenser as well.. The good thing is that it is based on the International Cub tractor engine so parts are not too expensive and fairly easy to find. Good luck with it Eddie !
