I need to repair some of the fiberglass in the cabin due to a cabin fire. I also find that the fiberglass has turned a yellow color from the smoke. Two questions: Rather than try to repair fiberglass with gel coat wouldn't be easier to use a "Bondo" product that would give just about the same results? In order to get the cabin wall and ceiling back to a white color I had someone recommend I paint the interior with fiberglass paint. Has anyone experienced the yellowing from smoke and do they have knowledge as to how to get it back to white. Also anyone experience with painting? Thanks for your help

Sounds weird, but......try this!

Try rubbing a small area with a strong bleach solution and see what happens. I did this once on a friend's boat and it actually worked. I've also done it on discolored ceiling tiles in a house. MC
