I'm planning on painting my boot stripe next spring with a one part polyurethane paint. What would be the best masking tape to use and do I have to remove it after each coat while the paint is still tacky? Or, can I leave the tape on until all coats are completed?

Use 'Thin Line' Tape

for a sharp separation and no run-under. No need to take it off between coats as long as you get the job done in a week or so. Rick D.

automotive blue masking

tape is the way to go. The paint can dry and you can still remove it fairly easily. Don't use conventional tan masking tape. You'll be sorry!

WE'VE USED WHAT JOHN SUGGESTS...

Home Debt/Lowes carries the blue masking tape used for painting. Easy on/off. Leave it on until you're through and it comes right off. Press it on firmly on the wet paint side so that you get a good seal to prevent bleeding under the tape. Stuff works great, and reuseable. Terry
