...few days after putting the boat on the hard few months ago I noticed this spidering or apparent crack n the paint near and on the boot strap.

Has lines radiating from a central area with no apparent impact point... upon sanding out the paint and cleaning well there is no lines...

Ideas? possible was just the gelcoat and paint spidering...

Just need to repair the gelcoat..?. as I am hearing that older vintage boat as this 1982 often as a hull flex that just affects the gelcoat. its the only one on the boat...

Thank you in advance

forgot to add I went to the boat at night and used a Uv black light to see if it would reveal any unseen cracks.. and nothing... not sure if this means anything.. just seems to me if there is gel coat cracking maybe there is some underlying issue ready to be resolved and repaired?

Maybe internal delamination between the fiberglass layers (rare) that pushed out the gelcoat?
It almost looks like when a boat's fore and back stays are adjusted way too tight for several years and it starts to pull the bow and transom up...kind of buckling it under tension. Again, very rare but it does happen. It almost looks like the 'spidering' radiates beyond the central part of the picture...or is that just some odd shadowing?

Doesn't looks to serious, I'd grind it out a little and fill it in with watertight epoxy. Sand and repaint...
