Painted stripe below mast

Anyone one know what the painted stripe just below masthead represents?

I'm thinking it may be ether max hoist or first reef

Hmmm .... looks like it is the max height for the rider of the bosom's chair...

Max hoist while Racing. Should also be one down by the boom so sail can't be over stretched past measured size.
