paint suggestions?

My wife just bought a 1976' 30 hunter I think its is going to need some paint, at least on the decks. It looks like they put the non skid coating on with a hammer. I would be relatively certain that you can't put non skid on with a sprayer, but I am curious to know if anyone has used a HVLP sprayer for top coat or awl grip, or any other marine paint. Any help would be appreciated.

Topside paint

Used unipoxy on my h25 4 years ago and I am not impressed with durability. I will use a two- part next time. I should say that my prep and number of coats(3) should have produced better results,all things considered. Hope this helps . Jim
