Paint for Hunter 17 deck?

I purchased a 1999 Hunter 17. There are a few cracks that I plan on repairing per directions in the forum. What I was wondering is if instead of using a Krylon paint I could use a non- skid deck paint to cover the repaired area or will it damage the plastic?

You are talking about the ACP built 170 which the outer skin in essence is plastic base for layman's terms.. The Krylon paint suggested is a plastic compatible plastic based paint. You have to stick with that style or paints compatible to plastics. I fear that if you do not it will have distastours effects on the ACP. If you find another compatible paint, just remember you will have to prep the surface for example lightly sanding with wet/dry water using water.

Thanks Dave. I will stick to the krylon paint. Also, I think I saw that you recommend Plexus rather than Gflex epoxy to fix the cracks? It sounds like you have a lot more experience with the Hunter 17 than most so I would tend to go with your advice. Will the g flex react poorly with the plastic? In the product description it seemed to be ok.

Unless it says to the effect that it is a plastic mendor, welder of such, generally two part expoxy will not hold even prepping the surface. Been there and tried that just to satisfy a customer once and he did a tongue lashing at me when his wife jumped in his face and rreminded him what I said originally I would not warranty the work.

Thanks for your expertise. Sorry for one more question. There is a little give in the deck floor and I am worried if I fix the crack it will just return because of the little give when stepped on. Should I drill a hole and insert some Plexus under the laminate or use some other product for that? Thanks for answering my questions, it is so helpful as I plan out the repair project for the winter.

Post photo and circle area where you feel it is loose. That would need to be fixed first. But first the photo so I know what you are talking about.

I am most concerned about the crack in the 2nd picture it seems to be the most severe. The first picture is the smallest crack but there is just a little give under the floor and I am just not sure if that is normal or not. I think picture 3 will be simple to repair. There is a just a little delamination in the bow floor but no cracks so not sure I should worry about it. Thanks for any advice.

I removed the non-skid tape on the deck and you can see how a few of the cracks flex as you walk so I feel like there needs to be some reinforcement on top or underneath.
