Chipped some loose paint off the wing keel of my 1988 Hunter 26.5 and was surprised to find lead, not rust! What kind of prep and paint should I use? Looks like there's some original epoxy(which is flaking off in several places) covered with a couple of coats of bottom paint. Any suggestions?

Big job, but I stripped the keel down to bare lead. You will probably find the lead surface is not smooth. I used water tight to fill and smooth, coated with VC Tar and then VC17. This has held up for 5 seasons with a new coat of VC17 every other year.

While I had a somewhat different problem with my H23 and it's iron keel, the link to Interlux website has some excellent (IMHO) info on refinishing both iron
