paint around fixed ports on 361

Hello,

I had another question as I work through my "new to me" 361.

The paint around the midship fixed ports in the main cabin are painted white around the exterior edge. My paint seems to be peeling off. I was hoping it was just a frame that I could replace or pop out, spray, and snap back in. But, I dont see any obvious way to remove.

Anyone deal with this? Do you mask and spray in place? Does Beneteau sell color matched paint? Or, does Beneteau have color matched replacements that can be popped in via some mechanism I haven't discovered. Not excited about spraying or removing and rebedding a working window. Any thoughts out there?

You are not going to believe this!
On recommendation from a Beneteau, they recommend white semi gloss enamel by Rustoleum. I had the same problem on my 343 three years ago. I used two part epoxy by interlux. I sprayed it with a small sprayer; if I have to do it again, I would just mask the frame with tape and paint it with a brush. Interlux was expensive because you have to prime with a two part epoxy primer before application of two coats of white. Would definitely be more economical to use the Rustoleum! I would not attempt to remove the frame; just paint in place.

Thanks for your reply. I ordered the paint from beneteau, but wasn't sure if I read the catalog correctly. You are right what came in the mail was a spray can from rustoleum. I was hoping to not have to mask off the window and paint in place, but that seems to be the only choice. Maybe I am looking at it wrong but it looks like they just painted the edge of the glass. Thanks, just wanted to make sure there isn't some tribal knowledge out there that was better than what I am planning to do. Thanks.

The interlux epoxy was about $130 for the primer & top coat. Expensive for such a small project.

Curious, does the can have a color code or what type of rustoleum it is? My port frames have a few scratches and though I'm not sure I'll do it right now it would be nice to source it locally when I do.
