Pacific NW rendezvous

Hello all PNW Vegaterians,
I know we've had a round of emails to determine a date for the 2011 Rendezvous,
now set for the 26 & 27th of August in Deer Harbor on Orcas Island, BUT it has
come to our attention that the driving force behind all the rendezvous, and our
unofficial, but much loved leader, Brian Hoffler, is NOT going to be available
in August. He's decided to do some family reunion thing, leaving Vegatarians in
the lurch. Brian sends word that he is available June the 30th thru to July
5th which would include the July 4th weekend. Sooo, though I have not checked
with the Deer Harbor Marina about availability, I'm wondering if anyone is
interested in shifting the rendezvous from Aug. 26&27 to the weekend of July 1&2
so that Brian & Diana could attend???

If so, let me know, and I'll see what the marina can do for us. If not, let me
know that also.

Thanks,
Sheila

Sheila,
We're good with that ... sooner is always better than later. We could even have a second one for people who can't come that early. Just a thought.

Wasn't the August date chosen so Chuck and Laura could attend? Not sure what
their schedule is now as their plans changed this fall.

July is iffy for me, but I haven't been able to make a rendezvous yet, so
don't worry about me.

Hi Sheila,
Can and PNW Non Vegaterian respond and attend?

I noted your August 26-27th Deer Harbor Rendezvous, and was quietly planning to
show up and meet some Vega owners, and get a real close up look, and hopefully a
tour and sail on the boat.
I will be among a Rhodes 22 Fleet that will be sailing in the San Juan's
between June 18th - 24th. Now all I have to do is leave the boat at a Marina
for a week and return the following week to join you guys, if that is OK with
you guys. We usually launch form Washington Park, Fidalgo Head in Anacortes.

I will keep monitoring the list for updates and information on the Vega.

Sincerely,
Caesar Paul

Sheila,
While I haven't made the final determination if I could make the August dates, the July 4th weekend is defenitely out for me. I'm responsible for the American Legion Yacht Club's Old Glory Boat Parade that weekend, so there's no sneeking away.

Caesar,
YES, you can certainly attend. The criteria for attending is anyone who owns a
Vega, once owned a Vega, might own a Vega some day, or kinda knows what a Vega
is and wants to see one. My husband and I, Brian and his wife, and Mitzie and
Bear all USED to own Vegas. We sold our boats but can't give up the Vega
group--so yes, come by and have a look!

Don't worry about us. Our plans are so far up in the air I can see the curvature or the earth. We will make it if we can.

When I suggested a second PNW Rendezvous, by no means did I mean for Howard and Sheila to host that one as well!

My thoughts are that if everyone interested in getting together in the PNW posts a time that would work for them, and a rough loctaion, maybe we could have more than one get-together. That way nobody needs to miss a cool, informal, enjoyable, and pleasant gathering of sailors and their families. And some of us lucky (retired) types could attend both events :)

Just my thoughts ...
