OZecoDrive

Hi All,

NOTE: I realize this was discussed several months ago.

I am about to repower and can't get the idea of electric out of my brain. I
have looked at several systems on the various websites and think the one
made in Sweden by Ozeco would work well in a Vega. I fully realize the
limitations in range under power, etc, and the weight issues with the
batteries, etc.

If I read the Ozeco website correctly Vega 1150, located in Karlskrona had
one installed in 2002. The owner is Ingvar Hansson. I would sure like to
communicate with Mr. Hansson about the installation and how the drive is
working out after a few years.

Or if anyone has any additional information they would like to share, that
would help too.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

We have been fascinated with the electric option for our Vega, as well, and have gone so
far as to get a quote from OZeco. I will copy and paste it below. I assume it would be
pretty much the same for any Vega.

I would say that if there were several of us who decided to take the plunge, they might be
willing to offer a little better deal. Also, we could all work on the installation in concert.

Anyway, it\'s something to think about. Hope this helps a little.

Jody and Rick,

I am glad someone else thinks as I do. I would love to discuss this further.
Where are you located? I am just north of Seattle, WA.

I have discussed this with the fellow at Ozeco too. I also have quite a bit
of information about batteries, etc as my son-in-law used to manage a
battery warehouse. He is also a ABYC certified marine electrician, and he
even volunteer to help install. There is a battery brand that looks better
than others Northstar is the name, but they are a little pricey.
NorthStar <NorthStar> is the
link, then go to HD Marine.

If you want to contact me independent of the general group (to save those
not interested in getting too much email on this subject) my email is:
