65% of responding Catalina owners have sailed in uncomfortably large seas, according to last week's Quick Quiz. How did your boat meet the challenge? Did it reef easily and handle with stability? Was your experience invigorating or terrifying? Swamp us with your opinion here.

lack of dodger

extremley wet without a dodger. All owner,s should invest in protection from bow waves.

Sucked Wind

Our diesel sucked wind and conked out after 4 hours of rough seas. After bleeding the lines the engine worked fine.

Handled

We've been in short (Lake Michigan) seas higher than eye level to a six-foot person standing behind the wheel. Our C30 did great. Got slapped on the beam once by an odd wave and got a little wet while reaching. The stern always rose up and let them flow under from behind. We've never taken green water on the bow.

Mighty Winds on September 24th

Buzzards Bay was too much for my 22. Waves of over 8 feet, wind up to 30 knots and extremely choppy seas made coming about difficult! Enjoyed the breakers and getting completely soaked, but definitely a grueling and invigorating experience. Glad to get back to port.
