87% of responding Catalina owners have exceeded the capacity of their dinette. 13% have not. Would a larger dinette suit you and your crew, or would you prefer to trade the seating for additional storage, tankage, or open area? Dig into this topic here.

dinnette

we have an 88 22 catalina which we bought as our first dry sailer. the previous owner never used the clip on table, nor do we. Perhaps if we slept over we might consider it, but access to the keel bolt, and the use of the dinnette seats and space between for day sailing storage seem to preclude the concept of "dining" on our little vessel.

GET A WAY

PACK A BASKET AND GET A WAY FROM THE KIDS. EVEN IF YOU DON'T EVEN LEAVE THE DOCK -AS DO MANY BIG BOATS .JUST PUT OUT A DECK CHAIR OR TWO AND RELAX ,OPEN UP THE CABIN -AND YOU WILL BEING USING THAT LITTLE PLACE MORE OFTEN. NOT TO MENTION VISITING THAT LITTLE COVE , OR THE OTHER SIDE OF THE LAKE.HA ,DROP ANCHOR AND STAY AWILE.

Dinette Table Is a Waste of Space...

on our C-42! For races, we drop it to a bed and use it to store people, duffles, and other miscellaneous stuff. We use it as a bed for overnight guests. On normal cruising days, we set it up and use it as a chart table since the real chart table isn't big enough for a full-sized chart. I want Bob to redesign it as a drop-leaf -- can't have the fold-away-against-the-wall type because of the U-shaped seating. The salon is so nice and big on this boat, but the table takes up a lot of space we think could be better used. It makes a nice, huge king-sized bed, though! Happy Sailing!
