That's cool.

Now: go back to your son and get off your computer. ::):):)

PS what software and wifi equipment do you have? Where are you?

Answer tomorrow, please. :)

We keep the boat in West Harbor of Oyster Bay NY. And I don't have any WiFi just a Apple IPhone.
The overnight was a lot of fun. We did a lot of sailing on the mooring last night though. Between the tides and a increasing wind the boat was constantly banging against the mooring ball or the dinghy.
Of course this being my first time out with my son overnighting I woke up to every bump and splash.
I'm 6' 235lbs so there isn't a lot of sleeping space just right for me. I fit in the V birth with a little wiggling. But my son claimed that. I ended up on the table with my feet under the winch handle for the keel. Next time if I can get out there without the dinghy I think it would be much more enjoyable for me.
My son slept like a rock after playing some. Zombie hunting on his kindle.
We stayed up till about 11. We watched the moon rise, had good seats for a fireworks show and retired to "Annapolis seamanship Heavy Weather Sailing" video on the kindle. All in all a A+ experience.

Glad you had a great time.

C22 Sleeping: When we had our C22 in the mid-80's, we, too, struggled with where to sleep. Then we did some research in Mainsheet magazine (this was before the internet) and found that you could make the dinette into a full size berth by filling the space between the inboard side of the dropped dinette table and the starboard side with the galley slid back with a piece of plywood with fiddles underneath to keep it from moving, and use the seat back cushions of the dinette. You sleep sideways. Worked great, BIG area, maintained access to the porta potti, too. This was for the Mark I C22s.

Thats awesome. I just got back from going with my four year old son. I feel your pain on the sleeping issue. I'm 6'5" and I shared the v-berth with my kid, but had my legs dangling off the edge. I actually didn't get much sleep so I spent most of the night on deck staring at the stars and that moon. It took me about an hour to hook the anchor on the bottom, which kept me from falling asleep due to the fear of dragging the anchor. On top of that, we moored next to beach that was suppose to close at sundown, and some slack jawed yokel rednecks found a way in and were hootin and hollering until 4 in the morning. But other than that it was an awesome experience..

It's great that you are able to start him off so young. One of the MkII c22 in the mooring field has his son out every weekend. I think he's 5 or so.
