Hello,
I would like some advice on how to proceed eliminating a leak from the cabin top joint. This leak had been a problem before since the overhead panels were discolored and distorted, so after I got the boat I cut the panels forward of the dome lights outboard the handrails and discarded the damaged sections. I think the joint was caulked previously and that job has failed on the Port side since I had water streaming in through a couple screw holes in the fiberglass overhead during a rainstorm last week.
It seems that excavating the old caulk and cleaning the joint before recaulking may be the way to go, but has someone else here dealt with this issue differently? I really don't think removing the cabin top should be necessary, but it might be the better method.
