I'm not familiar with Tasco ovens, but can you use BBQ parts for an ignitor?

Make sure the electrical contacts are connected properly. Hopefully it is something of this nature. Failing that, you might remove and open it up to see if you can fix or replace the pizzo unit as Ken suggests. Chief

our Eno stove has an electric igniter for oven and burners which igniter takes 2 AA batteries. even after replacing batteries with fresh, the igniter doesn't reliably work. we found corrosion on the terminals of the igniter so even the fresh AA batteries were not able to provide enough of a spark. after sanding off the corrosion from the battery terminals and dielectric greasing them at start and end of every season, we just gave up because the location of the igniter was too hard to get to. now we use a cheap butane igniter or a long stem kitchen match...

MI: Most all grease will serve as a diaelectric grease unless it is very dense and thick. Chief

CAN'T STAND electric piezo lighters. On a stove below deck they don't work until the bilge is full of propane. ..or a rail grill they dont work until the dome is full of gas and it blows up in your face. I second the flame thrower method.

This gas appliance sparker solved the problem for us. Pricey at $18 but well made and no butane.
BTW, in contrast to the single-spark piezo igniters, this one generates a continuous stream of sparks as long as you hold the trigger. Works well on both our top burners and oven. After one season, we're still on our first AA battery.
