Circular cam no longer working to hold outhaul. Any suggestion on rigging it another way? I've thought of using a block with cam cleat, by attaching it to hole above the vang hole and feeding the line through the block. The Harken 57 mm seems to be more than needed for this purpose, but perhaps this is the only solution..

To comment on your concern, beyond perhaps the "Circular Cam no longer working" is in:
  1. need of maintenance
  2. the line is worn
  3. the line is wrong size
  4. perhpas the line needs replacement
  5. perhpas a circular cam is the wrong tool
  6. Perhpas a cleat or clutch would better serve.
All of which are dependent on the way you are using the boat or the need to adjust the outhaul.

If cruising and not constantly adjusting the outhaul, I would switch to a more permanent tool (i.e. a cleat) to hold the line in place.

If racing I would use the cam cleat as it is a simple way to hold the outhaul in place for a temporary period and can be easily released to be adjusted.

Those are to opposite ends of the spectrum. There are many options in between. Selection of a different tool is about how you are sailing.

Please post a photo of your outhaual rigging set up and circular cam (cleat?) If the cam cleat is not holding it is time to replace.
