i need to run my outhaul back thru my boom after it was hauled out by little hands. Will i need to remove the mast end of the boom to do this or is there another way? the boat is a 26.5 hunter 1987. any guidance is welcome.
Thanks

Don't know the 26.5 but on "most" the outhaul is connected to the main clew on one end and attaches to a block on the other, does not go through the wheel. The outhaul line that you pull on goes from your hands through a turning block at the goose neck then through the aforementioned block ant attaches somewhere near the goose neck end of the boom on the inside.
kinda depends on which end of the outhaul got lost. if it is the working (clew) end the you should be able to retrieve it through the boom end. if it was the other end then the goose neck end will have to come off.
good luck

Before you start pulling things apart, go to the electrical department (Lowes, Home Depot, Ace) and get a coiled fish wire puller. Run the wire from the end of the boom to the mast and then pull your line back. Might take a few tries.,
Good luck
