Walt:
Mine is simply lashed with several turns of light dacron between the
clew grommet and the attachment eye on the boom. No tackle. It has
been this way for several years, and I have never adjusted it, the
foot seems pulled pretty tight to me.
If your tackle is logical, fed straight, with no crosses, maybe there
is some constriction in the boom boltrope slot.
