My outboard has no control on the handle, in fact, no handle. It is in a fixed position and the remote controls are located on the rail next to the starboard stern rail seat. I will try and post photos this weekend. If you have remote control, where do you have it located? I was thinking about relocating it to the aft rails, just above the tiller. Any thoughts?

On my 260

I mounted the remote controll for the Yamaha 8hp 4 stroke on the port side of the helm seat. It works really well there for me.

Thanks George

That is what I was talking about. Though I might need to make my R and F a little larger! LOL

suggestion: use two pieces of starboard for the throttle support plywood won't last long.

Remote Location

The PO of my 240 mounted the remote on the starboard side of the walk thru transom. This seems to work pretty well for the 8hp Nissan. The only exception being that I like to keep the motor tilted up {so that the lower unit will be out of the water while it is in the slip}. That makes for a tight radius on the transmission cable which I have had to replace {after 50 or more trips}. Fair Winds & Following Seas
