I have a Honda 10 hp outboard on my 1974 Cat 27 tall rig. I am looking for recommendations on which size prop will be most effective.

Re: Outboard prop

In general, for an outboard pushing a displacement hull, you want the prop with the largest diameter and smallest pitch available for the motor. The large diameter gives the prop more area to develop thrust and the smaller pitch lets the engine get up to operating RPM at slower speeds. Kind of like using low gear in your car, won't go fast but creates a lot of pull.
