outboard motor tricks

HI all,
Does anybody knows about if
9,9 horse power Yamaha outboard is enough for an Albin vega27 or better use a 15 ?
And if should I take care about transom and reinforce it before?
I'm also thinking to install a sliding motor bearing not one with springs, difficult to use downthere.
Thanks all.

Stefano, The 9.9 Yamaha is ideal for the Vega, particularly the "high thrust" version which, I understand, was designed as an auxiliary for sail boats. I used one for years before installing a Beta. It had more than enough power. Three things I would have done differently with the Yamaha: mount a model that is manually steerable, mount the controls nearby, perhaps on the pulpit, and make sure to get an electric tilt model. Sorry, that should have read "mount the controls on the pushpit". The pulpit is not really "nearby". Garry To: albinvega@yahoogroups.comFrom: AlbinVega@yahoogroups.comDate: Sun, 6 Sep 2015 15:31:59 -0700Subject: RE: [AlbinVega] outboard motor tricks

Ciao Stefano,I have no experience with the Yamaha outboard but I see you are from Venice area as I am.I am from Dolo and am the lucky owner of Vega 3339 - Spray, just back from my third navigation to the Aegean Sea. I would be pleased to have a chat with you about our Vegas. My email: africanmarco@...Cheers,marco baldanSent from my iPhone
