I have an Oday 272 1987 with a non stock motor mount. The problem is that it does not allow the outboard to be lowered into the water low enough. does anyone know the proper replacement motor mount for this model?

Non-Stock?

I'm not sure what was stock. Buy a good one and mount it as low as you can. I changed mine on a 25 when I went to 4 stroke (the old one may have been stock on my '76). The package claimed something like 14 inches of movement. If that included the nine inches away from the stern it may be correct. The holes lined up nicely (first clue something was wrong) but the motor is barely in the water. Can't move pad on bracket down. I'm gonna have to move the whole thing down as far as I can (which isn't far because there is a stringer at the base of the transom. With the heavy mount I bought you CANNOT pull it through its path in a store. I couldn't move mine until I had the motor on it its so stiff. Find one with lots of movement and mount it low. Mike
