Outboard Motor Mount

I have a Mercury 9.9 outboard that is stuck in the up position. It had a tilt trim device that I disconnected, hoping that that's what was binding it up. Does anyone have any experience in unfreezing the bolt that levers the engine up and down?? I have greased the bolt and sprayed it with lubricant to unfreeze it.Any help is appreciated.JonathanOday 25"My Amy"

I have a merc 9.8 2 stroke. Mine must be in Forward to go into the up position... On motors with power trim/tilt there is normally a release screw to drop the motor.if you get your serial number, you can order the specific factory manual for that motor. from a dealer. mine was about $40.
