Recently purchased, came with a new motor mount, not installed. I found the reason it had not been installed is because it does not match up with the mounting holes on my boat. The old mount is still usable, but is showing signs of age. I would like to find a new one with all the hardware.

As you have found out, its much easier to have a mount that fits the existing spacer block and mounting holes. Rudy at D&R Marine (contact info in the Links tab of this site) can sell you one. I bought one from him for my 23. Fit perfectly. Not the least expensive source, but you get Rudy's expertise which is well worth the slight extra cost.

Bill, I have owned two 25 O'Day cb's and on both of them the plywood core in the transom was compromised. My first boat ( a "78")was not that bad. My "79" the plywood core was dust. I ended up cutting out the whole section from the inside and installing fiberglass roving in it's place. Ugly job in the "79". The "79" with the gas tank and ice box built into the cockpit. Know that I go about 230 pounds. It was tight. The "78" does not have the ice box and gas tank in the cockpit. It had plenty of room in the bilge to work. To insure strength, I laminated the stern with two 1/4" aluminum plates about 12"x20" bolted in the corners with 1/4" bolts ( all set in 3M 4000) then installed the angled block and motor mount. good luck, r.w.landau
