Outboard motor install

I have a 1994 h26 and need some ideas about improvements to the outboard motor installation. Right now the standard motor mount in on a bit of an angle but I would like to modify the mint so that it is 90 degrees to the boat. This would mean extending the starboard some of the mount approx 4” aft
Any suggestions? Thx. Bill

There are angled stainless steel brackets that are for the hunter 260 which follow the same bolt pattern which makes the hunter 26 outboard stick out further. They can be purchased through the forum store.

Go under Hunter parts and type in part number 82”181553 and look under brackets. Two of them are $225 for the pair.

Anyone owning a 240 or 260, please post a picture of the outboard motor brackets.

Careful how far out from the stern you extend the mount because the weight of the motor will or can change the water line, as in the bow being higher in the water

As a former dealer, I installed those brackets on the Hunter 26 successfully without any issues. Make sure you have large washers outside and backing plates inside. Use two threaded lock nuts on each bolt inside and caulk of course
