Seeking to replace my Johnson Sailmaster 8 (27 in shaft). Looking for advice on replacement motor and best mounting solution. Wondering if anyone has attempted to use a shorter shaft motor with a bracket that allows the lowering of the engine below the transom mount of the stock board mount. I would like to use a lighter motor (less HP) but few come with a 25-27 inch shaft.
