Hello. I have a question regarding low speed steering.When I run my outboard,an 8 horse Nissan at 'crusing speed',the boat tracks well in a straight line. At very slow speeds,the motor will slowly turn on it's bracket,it wont stay straight.I single hand a lot,and it is good at times to leave the helm etc. Is there a clamp or another way that people temporarily have the outboard stay inline w/ the boat? Lloyd: I have an 8hp long shaft Nissan (two stroke) on my Oday 23, and my outboard stays at the angle I place it no matter what the speed. Mine is a newer outboard (probably one of the last two strokes they ever made). This leads me to believe that your motor needs an adjustment. I suggest you go on the Nissan website and see if your outboard's manual is available for download. The necessary adjustment should be detailed.

look on the back side of the drive shaft
on the back of the Nissan shaft there shpuld be a large wing nut (same color as rest of ourboard) Turning that will tighten it.
