I am not going to be able to get out to where my boat is kept next season, and perhaps the following one. Right now, my 340 is on blocks for the winter. To save expense, I was planning to have the yard leave it there until I am ready to enjoy sailing again. However, I have been hearing that leaving a boat on blocks for an extended period of time is bad for the structure -- I thought I would be saving wear and tear leaving it covered and out of harm's way.Do I need to get it commissioned each year (bottom paint,in particular) and have it dropped at a slip? Or will my value be preserved by leaving it high and dry, other than natural depreciation from advancing years?
