Ottawa River to Lake Champlain

Hi all, I have been a lake sailor for the last five years and am planning my first trip outside of home waters:dance:, from the Ottawa River(Hawksbury) to Lake Champlain. If anyone has information like ports of call, points of interest etc. it will be much appreciated.
My navigation experience is limited as there were no buoys or navigational aids, rapids or shipping traffic in my home lake. I have followed boating and seamanship courses and will be sailing with two buddies with similar experience. Thanks in advance

Just a note to say thanks for provided me with the leads. My trip is planned for early august so I have time to use these leads to organize my trip. For Roy, I will try to look you up when I'm down there.
