So last night the kids had a Rudolph sighting!! I put on my head lamp, switched it to night vision mode, or red nose mode, and proceeded to trounce through two feet of snow in the dark pretending to be Rudolph. Worked like a charm! For those of you with young kids this is a great x-mas gag for the kids. They buy it hook line and sinker and talk about it all night long..

I raised my Santa. This is my oldest son.

One year, when all the kids were in the stage of "Yeah, Santa, right" I got a Santa suit from a friend. Course he came with the suit. So at the appropriate time I ever so clumsily "snuck" out of the house and donned my red Santa hat, making sure to pass by the window so a few could see me. Into the garage I went where my buddy was already dressed as Santa.
So he knocks on the front door and enters and some of the kids bought it, some said "I know who Santa is. It's Uncle Tom".
Well Santa passed out all the presents and was bidding them a "Merry Christmas to all" when I walked in and said "Hey Santa, you dropped a present outside." He said "Well this one belongs to Jimmy down the street, where I going next. Thanks, and have a Merry Christmas."
Course the present was a bottle for him.
And the look on the kids faces was the best present I could give the parents.

Looks great we are up in NY with family for XMAS and it's not too cold for
us Floridian's.
Here's some of the family on XMAS eve,the big guy is my son that made the drive with us from Florida to really surprise my Mother and rest of family,they have not seen him for over three years,we did not tell any one he was coming
so they were really surprised.

Other Usues -Old Winches Now Part of the Garden Fountain (Photos)

Not much of a market these days for second-hand not self-tailing primary winches.

So the old Barients that I removed from my boat I instead used to augment the backyard garden fountain. The bronze anodized aluminum finish of the winches are a great match for the setting.

Old Dock lines make great tow ropes if heavy enough. One just got me out of a snow bank a couple of days ago - not all by itself, of course - but attached to a tow vehicle.

The real question is does Maine Sail wear fake hooves while doing this.... If the kids were smart, they'd go out and look for Rudolph's tracks in the snow.

If I were Maine, I'd take a pass on a deer costume were I living in his neck of the woods...although week 2 of muzzle loader ended 13th >;-)

Didn't suggest he wear a deer costume, as that's a good way to get shot... but should wear deer hoof shoes... to leave the proper tracks in the snow.

This isn't exactly Christmas related, but I used my left over Petitt Bright Red hull paint to repaint my front door! I get TONS of compliments. It was a good use of left over paint.
