Vista originally had a petrol engine (swapped out by previous owner -
god bless him) she has a replacement stainless desiel tank in the stb
locker. Where would the original tank have been? what was it made of?

My Vega, a 1961 model, number 703, has an Albin 022. The tank is in the
starboard cockpit locker. It is made of copper, and holds about five
gallons.

Hello: My Vega, 1071, has a copper tank in the starboard locker that holds 8
gallons. I've heard that copper isn't the best with diesel, but it's worked
just fine since 1984 when the 0-22 was replaced with a 2 cylinder Yanmar.
Anyone know why copper and diesel are considered incompatible? Bill Bach

Hi George

The original petrol vega fuel tank is located in the starboard locker, in the middle and just below the lids against the hull. It was made of copper and held about 5 gallons.
