As I'm still waiting to retrieve your book from my friends vacation condo, (was considering your suggestion to purchase another book, but that's over two feet on new hose
, I was certain that the hose was original and will need to be replaced. As I was measuring to see how much Trident hose I should buy, I discovered several things. The hose looks relatively new, (Shields vac..), we have owned this boat since 2001 and odors have been a relatively new issue. Also my wife's complaint has been that it seems the odor is coming from the forward head and not the aft. The other discoveries are: The discharge hose from the forward head is connected mid way to what appears to be the original black hose. Seems the prior owner, or the individual who did the job ran out of hose or did not want to deal with getting a clamp around the thru-deck pump out fitting. Also, on the forward head I found what seems to be a vented loop, with a fitting on the vent which was open, this is the hose from the head to the tank-is this usual? The two tanks seem to share 1 vent, the tubing used is regular water supply stuff. Each tank has 2 vents so there are 3 Y connectors, two Y connectors by each tank and then another Y when they join the tube which goes strait to the vent itself.Does all this make sense? I am going to my friend condo this weekend so I should have your book back in my hands then.Thank You..
