I'm ordering a new main sail, and the form has me confused. anybody know about... Dimension (width) of the rope foot attachment? Tack offset measurements? Outhaul Car measurements? I thought I'd just need the P and E!! Scott

From whom?

I'd be suspicious of a company that asked those questions without some direction. Is there no diagram? Makes a good case for using a local loft. Or sending your old sail as a pattern. The bolt rope question should not be a consideration unless your luff is a rope instead of slugs. You should opt for a loose-footed main. Then there is no bolt rope. If you choose to use the bolt rope then it has to properly fit the groove in the boom. The tack and outhaul measurements have to do with the kind and location of attachments at the gooseneck and outhaul. How close to the corners do the cringles need to be? Example, the tack pin could be a few inches behind the mast, not straight down from the luff.
