I am looking for opinions on what is a better and perhaps easier direct replacement for the original Marine Air 16K BTU. The existing one cools but does not get cold even after a recharge, it does what it can but that is not quite good enough. Marine Air/Dometic and Mermaid seem to be the choices as Cruise Air is pricey.

Last year I replaced the 16K Marine Air unit with the Marine Air/Dometic unit. I was able to keep the same control module but had to do a little work to line up the new plenum to the existing ductwork. The new unit also had the poly drip pan which is a big improvement.

Thanks, I was aware that the duct attach point did not have much give to it. I had to remove it recently to gain access to the squirrel cage. I was hoping to find it plug and play!
