A friend of mine is outfitting a brand new boat with a MV Inverter/Charger and they are suggesting the MasterLink MICC as the Battery Monitor. I don't have any experience with their BM's and was hoping I could get some feedback (this is not for a sail boat, but a very high end power boat)...Thanks in advance!

The MICC is a good monitor but if you have a Mass Combi its really the only way to go. The MICC has all the proper programming features you'd want in a good battery monitor as well as a $600.00 price tag.. Mastervolt sucks you in with system integration then hits you hard on the prices...

Or you could just save the $600 and buy beer by learning how to read a volt and amp meter from:

That's a lot of beer BTW
Bill,

As I mentioned in my OP, this isn't my beer money we are talking about. I was asking on behalf of a friend who is having a very high end power boat built and commissioned. He has thousands worth of electrical gear going in, and Maine Sail confirmed that for his MasterVolt system, this is the appropriate BM system for his situation.

Having said that, I know you have been arguing against the value of a BM for some time, but I fall squarely in the camp that a BM is one of the best upgrades one can do. I've installed them on my last two boats, and the only reason I haven't installed one on my new boat yet is because I am having some logistic challenges with placement of the shunt etc. Maine Sail has been graciously helping me with options and once I settle on the layout I will be happily writing a check to him for my Victron :)
