I saw the Atlantic Ocean today for the first time in nearly six weeks. Despite floating on its waters all that time, seeing the open ocean was as strange as if I had spent all that time in the midwest.

Places to visit

As you wind your way south try to find a way to visit Kiawah Island south of Charleston. It is spectacular. Can't really be reached by sailboat but worth the visit. Breakfast at the Sanctuary Hotel is awesome for Sunday Brunch.

Did you find Wally's?

No, we only walked the beach just to see it. Almost all the restaurants we saw were closed and we had leftovers that needed to be eaten. We're avoiding restaurants because of the budget impact and also pushing a bit now to be sure of being in Georgia for Christmas and before the weather turns cold.

We are aiming for Beaufort, SC at this point.

We were advised to avoid the Georgia ICW. Long, winding, and boring we were told. We left Myrtle Beach, out into that awesome Atlantic, and back in at St. Augustine. Have no idea what we missed but it was getting cold. The overnights out there were cold all the way to Miami.
