Happy to report our new Hunter 260 will be arriving in 2-3weeks. (My husband has been sailing a Hobie Cat for 20years before this.) I was just curious if you seasoned sailors have any stories/suggestions/advice for us to heed about sailing our new boat- kinks you ran into, problems you didn't anticipate etc when you got a new/used new boat- this way maybe (???) we wont run into similar situations.. thanks

Want to go sailing Monday?

Going out Monday if you guys want to come. But, you have to show me all the Fire Island gunk-hole spots. Call me or I will call you tonight. alan

New Boat

Joyce, we've been wondering if you got your new H260 yet. When we stepped up from a Hobie to a 26' sloop, we were surprised at how complicated everything seemed. We had to think about the depth, the outboard, gas, electrical, battery power, water system, head, holding tank, on top of the sailing things like docking, anchoring. The actual sailing was not much different. But after a few months we learned about the stuff. No problem. Just don't let learning the systems get in the way of sailing. We got used to it and love our 260. Good luck. Bill and Nancy Albuquerque

thanks, friends

Nancy- didn't want to keep burdening you with all our trivial stuff going on re boat. It seems that the wrong boat was sent up by Hunter so we are going to be 2-3weeks on hold which is ok 'cause we will use the time wisely however my h, bob is asking Hunter to bottom paint the boat as they are cutting into prime sailing time now and that would be time we don't have to waste later.. thanks for responding.. We will keep you posted.. Alan- thanks for call bob, you made his whole nite.. now he is really getting anxious.. talk to you again soon. Joyce P.s. thanks for the sailing offer.
