Hank On Mainsail
I don't know of a web site, but here's the typical steps; A beginning sailing book might show some typical photos:Unroll the sail and insert the aft end of the foot of the bolt rope at the foot of the sail or it's outhaul sail slug into the continuous slot on the top side of the boom and continue to slide the bolt rope into the groove and aft until the entire length of the foot of the sail is attached to the boom. Attach the outhaul line to the cringle at the aft end of the sail. The remaining upper portion of the sail can be loosley laid inthe boat or on the cabintop.Typically there will be a fastener at the forward end of the boom; possibly a 'fast pin' that pushes thru a cringle on the forward end of the foot of the sail and holds it tight to the boom nearest the mast. Now, one by one, starting with the forward top of the mainsail, slide the sail slugs (or bolt rope) into the grove on the aft side of the mast (there may be a 'gate' with a knurled knob thet needs to be 'opened' first. Continue inserting the sail slugs starting with the top and pushing each succcessive sail slug into the gate and up the groove in the mast untill all slugs are in the groove. Close the groove by re-inserting the 'gate' with the knurrled knob and tightening it so the sail slugs cannot drop out. You should be able to attach the main halyard and trial hoist the main (hopefully at the dock in calm conditions) to see that all the slugs and the bolt rope are in their respective groves and hand snug the outhaull and main halyard till everything looks right. And, as I re-read this , a beginning sailing book might be helpfull with pictures and sailing terms explained. Good luck and good sailing!
