..."in the bilge". Sorry about the bad joke--it just came to me. One source of leaks that I just discovered this weekend on my H27--the drain hoses for the (aft) deck drains! You won't see it leak, but you'll wonder where that persistent leak comes from that you don't see in the interior. The cockpit drains are another source of this. It apparently all goes under the engine and down into the bilges. PS--All praise to my wife for an hour of hosing the topsides down while I ran around below!

You just may have solved a mystery...

I have been wondering for years where all of the water is coming from in my bilge (even in winter on the cradle). I always figured the H2O was coming from the toe rails. However, the water seemed to originate somehow from the stern of the boat. Everything you are saying seems to make sense. Bravo!
