hello my name is moondoggy I am looking for a mooring or a place to tigh up for the night BETWEEN OCEANSIDE CAL. AND MISSION BAY THE SAIL FROM OCEANSIDE TO MISSION BAY IS TO FAR FOR MY WIFE AND SHE IS NEW TO SAILING I SAIL A MAC.26C. thanks so much for your help MOONDOGGY.OUT//??????

It's a short haul

I have never sailed it but I know that stretch of coast and there is nothing but some small lagoons (mud flats) I don’t know is you can anchor and if you can there so close to Oceanside it would do no good

Nope Moondoggy, nothing you could drop a hook in, and certainly nothing protected. The closest place is Dana Point and that is north. Couple things you could do but it would take just a bit of logistics are... Sail down to mission bay with her having already arranged some sort of ground transportation back (train), or sail your boat down to San Diego and put it on a guest slip. Sail around in San Diego with her. Good luck

La Jolla is pretty well protected, but will only

shave 5 mi off your trip. Nice place to stop however. They have some great caves to kayak into if the conditions are right. Frank
