Peggy: I spoke with you on the phone regarding y valves for the Vacuflush heads on my 460. You told me that vented loops must be installed between the y valve and the thru hull. My question is....the Vacuflush head only requires about 1 pint of water per flush. That doesn't seem like enough water to flush the waste from the pump up and over the loop and overboard. Am I right? All suggestions welcomed. MPJ

It's enough...

The VacuFlush works a little differently from most heads...the only one that's similar is the Lavac which uses the same principle (create a vacuum and then release it to to pull the bowl contents through the system), but is a manual toilet. The only real function of the flush water is to rinse out the hose behind the bowl contents. And yes...the vacuum pump is quite able to send both the bowl contents and the flush water up and over a vented loop.
