I just received the Horizon WS45 Wind Speed/Wind Direction
instrument. I have a question concerning the mast, and running the
wire down the mast to the deck. Has anyone done this? Are there
any obstructions in the mast or will the wire pass through easily?

Hi David:

The only 'obstruction' I have inside the mast are upside
down Styrofoam cups with a hole in their center where the
VHF radio wire is... to prevent the wire from banging
around.

David: The only obstruction is at the spreaders (compression tube) but
there's room to get by it. I installed a 1" lightweight PVC conduit full length to
keep things from rattling around. All wires go through this. Mine is a
Proctor spar, 1971 vintage. Other Vegas may have different spars. Bill Bach, V
