In honor of Labor Day, what's your favorite labor on your boat?

Rinsing or polishing gleaming gelcoat? Snugging down the rigging? Getting the dock lines *just* right? Or maybe it's sitting at anchor making expert use of a bottle opener.

Describe your labor of love.

Up north it's preparing for the shorter days and cooler temps, digging out your long pants and best sailing sweater and hoping that frost bite isn't really as painful as you remember from last year !!

Ha! Right about now my beloved wife would call ...see the pot to starboard?...." And I would say "...I only look dead ahead..."
We ran over several on the way home, as we always do (under sail). But we both looked at each other when one took a long time to materialize in the wake. And then POP! We were going 6 knots, with the centerboard down (8'). The centerboard tends to pull one - occasionally - several yards, before the warp slides past the tip.

The board also keeps the warp way down below the prop.

I was thinking, we're due though; we haven't hitch one up in 4 or 5 years.
