ON and OFF frig cycle

I have a AB and have a different problem. It cools too good and I have to keep in in the lowest setting I can. At the same time the frig/freezer cycles on every 8 - 10 minutes. It will run for a few minutes and then go off for about the same amount of time and then it cycles on again. H&S Yacht did the warranty work on the top of the frig lid and added a few inches of rubber to help seal the lid. Am I losing my cold air and making the frig overwork. If I shut off the frig toggle switch it will remain cool for quite a while and still have ice. I have a 2002 410.

Before I can help you I need the Model number off the compressor. Is It a BD3 or A BD50.

Freezer/Refrigerator Box insulation

The freezer on my 350 freezes ice very well inside the evaporator but it runs about 90 percent of the time during hot weather and just under 50 percent in cooler months. To get those figures, I've installed an elapsed time meter on the on the compersser and checked it daily for several months. According to AB service dept. my compressor is functioning as it should. I've also purchased an inferred temperature tool. With that, I've measured temperature over the outer sides of the box, the top and doors. The gasket areas have no insulation and I've discover an area on the outer wall, about the size of a softball that is always about 6 degrees colder than surrounding areas.What's the recommended way to insulate voids between fiberglass walls of the freezer box? I'm searching for a good way to insulate under the top door seal areas either. I tried Great Stuff foam but it needs a form to hold it in place as it cures. Any suggestions?

Improving hot weather performance.

Your unit has a 37 cfm .35 amp condenser fan. Increasing the fans output will in hot weather improve the cooling and reduce the run time.When I was building those systems for use in the tropics I used 80 cfm ½ amp fans. The complaint with the larger capacity fan is noise lever.There is some information on my web site about insulation the important thing to remember about spray foam is, it will expand for hours and can damage paneling and box liner if not supported. I have used spray foam and you do need a cardboard dam to stop the liquid foam from reaching the bilge, before it sets up. Great Stuff is good but they do not indicate the R value on the can.
