I want to thank everyone from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland that took the time to answer my letter of last May. I had major computer problems and lost all your addresses so I can't not get back to you directly. Thanks for all the valuable info provided. Hopefully I'll run into some of you this summer. I did leave Montreal, headed for Labrador and Newfoundland, with the intent of also going to St-Pierre & Miquelon, then into the Bras d'Or Lakes, finally completing this circumnavigation of the Gulf of St-Lawrence by stopping over in Prince Edouard Island and Magdalen Islands, before returning up the Gaspé coast towards Montreal I have given myself 3 months to do the trip. Some friends are going to join me from time to time, but for the most part I am sailing alone. Currently holed-up in Ste-Anne de Portneuf awaiting the weather window to move onward. Right now it's raining and blowing 30 to 35 from the NE , and you know it, that is where I am headed. Can't buck the tide and the NE getting to Baie Comeau from here. Tomorrow morning's high tide will let me go over the bar at the mouth of the river and we're supposed to get a nice SW. Need it as it is 60 miles down the coast without any ''just-in-case'' hiding holes. Attached picture is the ''Toupie du Saguenay'', the lighthouse marking the entrance to the Saguenay fjord from the St-Lawrence River. Sailboats really have to time their arrival there since the ebb can run at up to 7 knots. If you happen to be in a harbour anywhere along my planned route and you do you see ''Sacripant'', my Hunter 34 with a blue dodger and blue bimini, please stop by for a visit. Have a good season Claude

Bon Voyage, Claude

Sounds like a great adventure. You can probably do without the 35 knot headwinds and rain though. Take lots of pictures and please gives us reports along the way when you can. Gary Wyngarden S/V Wanderlust h37.5
