Ken Cook Co.

I have a 1978 25' O'day with the Zephyr saildrive in it. I found out that Ken Cook Co. has the manuals available. They are new manuals and the parts list is also available. When I purchased them last year it was $20 for the parts list, and $40 for the service manual. This company is out of Milwaukee. I think their phone number is still (414) 466-6060. Good Luck

Mine Smoked too

I moved my gas tank to the top side in the cockpit use a 3 or 6 gal with a quick connect I can keep clean Gas inside the tank Fixed the bad smoke also cut back on the amount of oil i put in the gas calls for 50 to 1 just use a little less

i have an omc 15hp. just did some repairs to it. i go about 70 to 1 on the oil. i also noticed that having the correct spark plugs cuts down on the smoke.

thats the ticket

i had a publication that was with the boat when i bought it and had read it a couple years ago. decided to read it again, it is by the society of automotive engineers reveiwing the saildrive, if you can beleive that. the report was made at the "off highway vehicle meeting" milwaukee, wisc sept.13-16 1976 report#760675. regarding fuel mix, he (ralph lambrecht-OMC) states the 35hp powerhead with depowered to 15hp can run as little as 100/1, because of the rather low demand on the motor. funny that is what i decided to mix up this week 'bout 70/1. the smoke is not a bad sign unless you foul plugs i suppose. great motor, needed all she had to clear the pier head with some8-10 chomping at the bow. thanx for the info folks sail sail sail
