Hi all, Spent a WONDERFUL weekend getting blown around Lake Guntersville, but when it came time for dinner, I realized that the alcohol stove would not build pressure. It's like the "pump rod" was loose in the tube. I quickly added a small dab of silicone to the o-ring, but that didn't help. Not sure of the manufacturer, but I'm positive it's the original stove that came in the '85 Catalina 25. Anyone? Ed

Wasn't that stove common to all Cat's made in '85? Anyone help? (I'm on the c25 board daily, just thought I'd get more help here)

It's probably a Seaward
I had a combination alcohol / electric stove on my '87 C-30 made by Seaward, and Seaward provides the electrical distribution and engine control pannels for Catalina, so they probably made your alcohol stove too. So you're not getting any rsistence when you pump? I assume you've taken out the pump rod and checked the seal. Isn't it leather? If it failed suddenly, maybe there is a one way valve of some type that's stuck. I worked on the one I had years ago, but I don't remember too much about it.
