Bumpers

From the H28.5 Knowledge Base: From: Warren Milberg Subject: Rubber Bumpers -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When I bought my boat in 2003, all of the black rubber bumpers under the cockpit lockers, and the two on the companionway hatch, were totally shot. Thinking these would be hard to replace, I roamed Home Depot and found some washers that I thought would suffice. They were ok, but not quite right. On a hunch, I called Hunter in Florida. Bingo! They had the original OEM bumpes in stock. I ordered 25 of them @ .49 each plus postage and had them in hand a week later. If interested, call Hunter at: 1-800-771-5556 ext 3015. Tell them you want Item 1000190, Bumper Black, 771-RW (Large Bumpers).

Great Question

I'm glad this question was asked. I was looking to replace all of mine too and had been looking all over the net. Best deal I could find was you needed to place a minimum order of $50. That would have supplied me w/ a little too many bumpers. Thanks for the info on calling Hunter direct. I just got off of the phone and ordered mine too. Robert

chair leg ends

Also at Home Depot in hardware are chair leg ends, with screws. I've used these and they work fine. Tim

Rubber Seat Bumpers

I also called Hunter and got replacements for the Seat Bumpers, BUT they were shorter than needed and the seat crunched against the fiberglass base. I purchased flat sink washers from Lowe's to raise them up and they worked great.

Use black rubber stoppers

I had the same problem and considered many options. I finally found rubber stoppers, like what you would use in the end of a bottle. They come in multiple sizes, are taperd nicley, black color, and can be cut to dimension. I selected the diameter, cut them to height, predrilled, and countersunk them for the screw head. The are just the right density/hardness and are performing very well. They are cheap and readilly available at most hardware stores.
